PLIXI folding helmet

Why a folding helmet?

Because the main reason people don't wear helmets when cycling is because they take up so much space after use. Overade created the Plixi to reduce this problem and make helmets much more practical to use.

How do I unfold and fold my Plixi folding helmet?

The packaging of your helmet contains instructions showing you the 3 very quick and simple steps to follow. Unfolding and folding are intuitive and take just a few seconds. Before using it, don't forget to lock your helmet in the unfolded position. To be sure, you'll need to hear the "click" sound that completes the last stage.

Does my Plixi folding helmet provide the same protection as a conventional helmet?

Yes, it is certified using the same methods as any other helmet. The Plixi therefore meets the same safety standards as a conventional cycle helmet. Which means it's just as solid and provides just as good protection.

What standards does my Plixi folding helmet meet?

The Plixi meets the EN1078 European safety standard for bicycle, scooter and rollerblade helmets. This is the only standard for bicycle helmets in Europe. It also meets the CPSC standard, which is the equivalent standard in the USA.

How do I choose the right size for my Plixi folding helmet?

The Plixi comes in 2 sizes: S-M and L-XL. To help you choose, best is to measure your head circumference at the forehead level (where the diameter is largest), approximately 2 cm above your eyebrows and ears, with the help of a flexible measuring tape. If you are less than 58 cm, your size will be S-M. If you are 58 cm or more, L-XL will be the best size for you. A bicycle helmet should fit snugly, but not too tightly, so as not to get in your way.

How much space does my Plixi folding helmet save?

The volume of your helmet is divided by 3, making it easy to store in a handbag or small rucksack. The dimensions of the folded Plixi are approximately 21 x 16 x 11 cm.

What materials are used in my Plixi folding helmet ?

Like many bicycle helmets, the outer shell is made of ABS, while the inside is made of expanded polystyrene to absorb shocks.

How can I improve the comfort of my Plixi folding helmet?

The Plixi has an adjustable fit system specially designed for our helmet, as well as lockable dividers for optimum comfort.

Can I use my Plixi folding helmet for purposes other than cycling?

Yes, the exact title of the standard to which the Plixi conforms is "helmet for cyclists and users of skateboards and roller skates". So you can use the Plixi for cycling in all its forms, for electrically-assisted bicycles, but also for inline skating, skateboarding and scootering.

Who is the Plixi folding helmet designed for?

The Plixi can be used by cyclists of all abilities. However, it is urban cyclists who will benefit most from the added value offered by its compactness when folded.

How do I position my visor to my Plixi folding helmet?

On the back of the packaging for your visor are explanatory pictures showing the successive steps to follow to fit your visor to the helmet. You can fold your Plixi and leave the visor in place.

Are there different sizes of Plixi visor?

No. The visors are one size fits all, which means that they can be used on helmets in sizes S-M or L-XL.

How do I put my cover on my Plixi folding helmet?

On the back of the packaging for your cover are explanatory pictures showing the successive steps to follow to fit your cover to the helmet. You can fold your Plixi and leave the cover in place.
