What are the differences between Loxi bags and the Loxi pannier?

Loxi is a foldable, waterproof and secure bag. It allows you to store your accessories (helmet, gloves, lights, etc.) away from rain and theft, while leaving them on your bike once you've reached your destination. When the Loxi bag is empty, it can be rolled up completely. It comes in 2 sizes: 4 litres and 9 litres.

The Loxi pannier is very much like a bicycle pannier. It has the shape of a pannier (rectangular), a rigid back and an attachment system that allows it to be fitted to any luggage rack up to 16mm in diameter. It cannot be folded or rolled. It comes in a single capacity of 15 litres.

 

Why have you chosen to secure the Loxi bag and pannier with a 4-digit code lock rather than a key?

Code locks have their advantages and disadvantages, and the same goes for key locks. We chose a code lock because it's easier to use on a day-to-day basis. However, even though it's more expensive, we decided to use a 4-digit model rather than a 3-digit model to guarantee maximum security.

 

What is the original code for the anti-theft device?

The original code for the lock is 0000. We strongly advise you to change it when you receive your Loxi.

  

What is the maximum diameter of the luggage rack tubes on which the Loxi pannier can be fitted?

The tubes can be up to 16 mm in diameter. Beyond that, it is not certain that the pannier will fit perfectly on the luggage rack.

  

Can I secure my bike with the Loxi bag or pannier?

We do not recommend securing your bike with Loxi, simply because it is not an anti-theft device. It's a bag or pannier that incorporates a lock to attach the bag securely.

 

Can Loxi be torn?

No, you can't, because the design of the product is complex. It actually consists of "2 bags". The waterproof bag on the outside and the cut-resistant bag on the inside. The cut resistant bag is made first. The parts are sewn together using UHMWPE thread, which is much stronger than conventional cotton thread. Next, the waterproof bag is made from the same type of thread.

Finally, the cut-resistant bag is placed inside the waterproof bag and the two are joined together. This type of construction prevents access to the inside of the bag by cutting only the side seams. You'll only have access to the cut-resistant bag, which you can't cut.

  

Is it really strong?

Yes, it is. We've selected the best cut-resistant material in the world. It's level 5 according to EN388, the European standard for cut resistance. It's a blend of glass fibres, polyester and high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), a material that is 40% more resistant than Kevlar. For example, our manufacturer has no choice but to laser-cut this material during the manufacturing process. However, just because it's cut-resistant doesn't mean it will never be cut. It means that it will take a long time to cut such a material.

 

Does "anti-theft" mean that Loxi cannot be stolen?

Unfortunately, the inclusion of a 12mm cable lock in our Loxi products and the use of the most effective cut-resistant fabric available today do not guarantee 100% protection against theft. But we tested the products for several weeks, day and night, locked to a bike on different streets in Paris, and encountered no problems.

  

Can I put a motorbike helmet inside the Loxi bag or pannier?

No. The Loxi 4L bag can hold our Plixi folding helmet, while the Loxi 9L can hold a standard bike helmet. The Loxi pannier is 15L, so it can also hold any bicycle helmet, but neither product can hold a motorbike helmet.

  

Is the Loxi bag just for cyclists?

No. After all, Loxi is a secure, waterproof bag. So there are plenty of everyday occasions to use it: at the bar while you're smoking outside, at the gym to keep your valuables safe in the changing rooms, at the beach while you're swimming or on the playground while you're playing basketball... A must-have! 

 

Why do you only offer Loxi products in black?

It's a deliberate choice we've made to avoid drawing people's attention and to keep Loxi products as discreet as possible.

  

Is the Loxi 15L pannier made from the same materials as the Loxi security bags?

Absolutely. The Loxi pannier incorporates a 12mm diameter anti-theft device and is made from the same cut-resistant material based on a blend of glass fibre, polyester and high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). This material is 40% more resistant than Kevlar.

  

Can the Loxi pannier be rolled up completely?

The Loxi 15L pannier has a rigid back to hold its shape, but cannot be rolled up completely.
